Meeting summary by Lorianne Ulm.

We had a great meeting last night, a small but might group!

We discussed National Night Out that’s coming up Tuesday, August 6, food drive project, art in Lincoln Village and possible future activities.  We also talked about how to attract residents to get involved, which we will discuss in greater depth at our next meeting.  Below are some action items and updates from last night’s meeting.

National Night Out: Tuesday, August 6 at 6:00 p.m. (if you are helping with the event please arrive by 5:00 p.m.) Matt & Lorianne: canopies, tables, garbage can, coolers, water & ice, and a white board Linea – create a sign-up sheet to capture contact info of residents who want to get involved ITLV group – flyer homes around the school and along your street (Kris McCall will reach out to group to coordinate a time to provide you with flyers) ITLV group – Please coordinate someone to post the flyer on Nextdoor and Facebook to help advertise the event Kris or Michael – Drop off Otter Pops to City Hall before Friday, Aug. 2

Ordering additional ITLV t-shirts. If you haven’t let me know already, please let me know if you need a shirt.

Kris McCall is picking up flyers for National Night Out and will coordinate via email a time to meet to pick some up.  The idea is to flyer around the school and, if possible, your street.  I’ve attached the flyer in case you would like to make a copy or use it to post to Facebook or Nextdoor.

Lauren McCall is supporting the Cordova Food Locker as part of her senior project and asked the group if she could use the ITLV NNO event as one of her drop off locations.  There is a flyer attached providing more info.  I’m printing the ITLV NNO flyer and the food drive flyer double sided for convenience. If your place of business is interested in being a drop off location for a can drive to support our local families in need please let me know.

Art in Lincoln Village: Michael Dack shared some information about our Rancho Cordova Arts Council and suggested that Lincoln Village might be a good place for a mural.  This would be a wonderful community building opportunity for the neighborhood.  We plan to discuss this topic at our next meeting (Aug. 14).

Discussed upcoming events:

July 27 – Waterwise Workshop & Tree Mulching – Senior Center at 8:30 a.m.

August 17 – Mayors Walk – A.M. Winn Elementary School at 8:30 a.m.

September 15 – ITLV Meet Your Neighbor – Vanguard from 5-7 p.m.

If you have any questions please let me know.  I hope to see you all at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6.  Bring a friend!!!
