Meeting summary from Matt Buland.
National Night Out
With a simplified event, our attention can be better focused on marketing. We’ve talked about the fun new idea of hand drawn signs (which we will decorate at our next meeting), we’ve talked about social media (Linae has offered to post in both the Events and General sections of Nextdoor – with support through comments/I’m attending from the rest of the group). After talking with Lorianne she believes you should create a flyer and hand them out. The Party in the Park might be a great opportunity to do that!
So let’s get down the message.
Since we are early, I would use Save the Date language.
Save the Date for the Neighborhood Otter Pop Social
Join us in celebrating our neighborhood for National Night Out in Lincoln Village
Ice Cold Otter Pops, meet your Neighbors, a visit from RCPD and a Firetruck and tons of fun
August 6th from 6pm to 8:30pm
A.M. Winn Elementary (front of the school)
Bring your family, a blanket or some lawn chairs
(and if you’d like, a ball to toss or kick around with your friends and neighbors)
That’s just a quick run through. It doesn’t have to be exactly like that, but those would be the main points I’d want to share. If you’d like, you could add to the post or add it as a comment, join us on July 24th at Mountain Mikes as we decorate signs for the event and make final preparations. Family friendly with free Pizza.
I also think it would be wise to reach out the large ITLV group list with an invite for the event and the sign decorating. You may even ask for help greeting folks or passing out.
